Rhi frowned and nodded looking away,
"I bet they did, well at least you managed to steer clear of the cops!" she sighed and stepped away stretching,
"Are you still learning to race?" she turned a cheeky grin on him and stepped back hands on hips.

"I learned while you were in diapers, little girl." He smirked at her, remembering with slight annoyance that no matter how he bigged up his racing skill, she was still the better racer.
"And by steer clear, you mean not in jail. I got arrested, a while ago now. Just managed to avoid a jail sentence." Keen grimaced at the thought.

"It's pretty good to see you too. As long as there isn't trouble following you." He squeezed her shoulder lightly, but that thought didn't leave his mind.
It was very likely that there was trouble following her, be it police, or someone else entirely. *No matter, I'll look after her....if she doesn't look after herself.*

Rhi stepped forward and slipped her arms around the big mans waist resting her head against his chest so he wouldnt see her face contort with the emotional pain of lying to him she forced herself to speak normally.
"Me? trouble? Never! I would tell you wouldnt I?" she closed her eyes tightly concentrating on breathing normally before stepping back a smile painted across her face.

Post by Kellan Braeburn on Nov 17, 2006 21:52:00 GMT
By now, the pair had fallen back. They no longer stood in the mouth of the warehouse, but rather beside it, the corner just a few steps behind Erian's back, the voices that burned gently in the vast space were softened, a little more quiet than they would have been if they were back at the doorway.
Whereas Kellan remained calm before his friend, still trying to catch his breath with a little less ferocity, Erian was much more alert, if alert now meant worried. To any bystander, it would have been seen as paranoia, the way she turned her head back every other second, her eyebrows arched high, her mouth obscured by the tall funnel of fleece that curled about her neck, held in place by a strip of Velcro found hidden underneath.
Kellan found his own gaze drawing upon the same lack of something that Erian's own intent stare was fixed upon. The dark made it only a little more difficult to see what it was that lay ahead, the warehouses easily distinguishable from the ground, and even the path. But although Erian was quite clearly concerned, there seemed to be nothing to fret over nearby.
"Come on, it's alright." Said Kellan quietly. Even in her panicked state, her friend's words still held a soothing quality which seemed to dull her fear without effort. "They aren't here, and even if they were, then it would still take them time to find us - there's a lot of warehouses here. Even if they were to split up it would take at least ten minutes for them to search everywhere." Finally Erian tore her gaze away from the pavement the sat behind the pair, and turned to face Kellan, who simply smiled as he reached to pat her gently upon the shoulder. The girl nodded mutely, but in her eyes, a glimmer of worry was still evident.

A soft shuffle sauntered, unseen and only faintly heard by both man and woman. A loud voice, quite high for a man, it seemed, spat out a repulsive chain of words which was met with howls of breathy laughter that drew closer and grew louder with every second.
Erian's head quickly whipped around. Her eyes widened, and instinctively she stepped away from the corner of the warehouse, never once taking her eyes off the invisible gang that continued to make their way closer and closer. It seemed that they had all grouped up again, and were now searching as a team, but it could easily be heard that they were not doing a particularly good job of it. "It's them." Erian whispered. Gone was the look of absolute fear. Her eyebrows had lowered, and now sat knitted together along the bridge of her nose, she looked more enraged than fearful.
Kellan blindly looked forward. No sign of the gang could be seen with the eye, but their slurs and yells were more than enough to give away their location. He bobbed his head quickly, and as if they were in perfect sync, the pair began to retreat, passing the door of the racing den, their eyes prowling, looking for a place to escape. They quickly found it to their left, a broad walkway between another pair of metal behemoths.
Without a word, both Erian and Kellan sprung into action, their sprints more than swift. Any of the toll that they had only just endured seemed to be light, a fickle thing, as they now tore away from their hiding place with such ferocity it was as if they were running for dear life - which was precisely what they were doing.
A few seconds after, the frantic footfalls of the pair died away, faintly audible by the den. They were not ones to hesitate.

Rhi glanced at her watch when there was no response from the big racer and smiled.
"Well as lovely as it is to stand here and chat with you all day I have things to see, people to find!" she reached forward again and pecked him on the cheek before turning and heading from the warehouse. Pushing the central locking button on her key fob she smiled as her lights flashed in response and she opened the door sliding gracefully into the bucket seat. A few seconds later the roar of the powerful engine echoed around the buildings shattering the silence as she pulled away and raced off heading for the spiral and the city that had been her home so many years ago. .
